Cycling family Dominique Gregoire (left), husband Jim Glasspoole and daughter Claudia Glasspoole pose for a photo before continuing their Marathon of Hope bike ride on Wednesday (June 15) outside Hampton Inn in Kamloops.
Their cycling team is one of many fundraising efforts for the seventh annual Terry Fox Ride of Hope for cancer research taking place this month. In 2015, inspired by his brother, Darrell Fox started the Terry Fox Ride of Hope to carry on Terry’s legacy.
The Glasspoole/Gregoire family recently began their fundraising journey in Vancouver, with Jim and Claudia cycling while Dominique drives the support vehicle. Jim was inspired by a friend and, after turning 60, decided he would join the cause. After a 12-week training program, the family left their Calgary home to start their ride in Vancouver on their pursuit of reaching a fundraising goal of $20,000 (they are within reach of hitting their mark within days).
