The Rocky Mountain Rangers are inviting the public to their change of command parade on Saturday, Sept. 15, as they welcome a new commanding officer.
The Rangers will salute outgoing commanding officer Lt.-Col. Normand J. Dionne and induct Maj. Amadeo G. Vecchio as Dionne’s successor.
Dionne has held the position of commanding officer since November 2014. The commanding officer oversees 126 soldiers in Kamloops and Prince George.
The ceremony will take place behind Sandman Centre at 1 p.m. It will include a formal march of current and former guard members, including several war veterans, and will be followed by a regimental association dinner for regiment members to connect and celebrate.
There will be parking and driving restrictions in the park area beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 14.
