One of the world’s hottest AC/DC acts is coming to Kamloops.
Bonfire, a tribute act from AC/DC's early years with lead singer Bon Scott to some of the more current songs in the Brian Johnson era, will perform at Sagebrush Theatre on Sunday, Oct. 27.
Opening for Bonfire will be the The Hip Replacements, widely considered to be Canada’s best Tragically Hip tribute band.
“Bonfire loves the Okanagan and Thompson areas and their new fans,” said promoter Norm Richard. “They’re going to knock people out. The lead singer, if you close your eyes, you wouldn’t know the difference. Both groups are excited to be on the same show.”
From Los Angeles, Bonfire is rated as the world’s best AC/DC tribute band by AC/DC and by Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters.
When Richard first saw Bonfire in concert, he said it was as if he was watching the real AC/DC perform.
“They’ve been doing this for 18 years now. The lead singer he looks like Bon, he’s uncanny portraying Bon Scott,” Richard said.
“There’s a lot of good AC/DC covers, but it comes down the singing.”
Bonfire and The Hip Replacements play Sagebrush Theatre on Sunday, Oct. 27, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $39 and can be purchased online at kamloopslive.com or by calling 250-374-5483.
