A book launch will be held on Saturday, June 25, alongside a camera obscura demonstration at the Kamloops Farmers' Market downtown, 200 St. Paul St.

Launched in connection with the Kamloops Art Gallery, the book, Art, Research, Play: The Midnight Sun Camera Obscura Project, will be available for sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Camera obscura is Latin for "darkened chamber" — a device that projects an upside-down image onto a surface inside a contained space.

The book was edited by Donald Lawrence, Josephine Mills, and Emily Dundas Oke.

Lawrence is the artist behind a number of public art displays in Kamloops, including the camera obscura he set atop the Paramount Theatre in 2020.
