Baby boom play
A solo performance by Rick Miller, documenting the music, culture and politics that shaped the Baby Boomer generation, is currently ongoing at the Sagebrush Theatre.
The performance blends multimedia, storytelling and 25 "moment-defining" songs, according to Western Canada Theatre, who is presenting the performance.
Tickets start at $20 and are available at the Kamloops Live box office, online at kamloopslive.ca. The show will run until March 5.
Local band playing Friday night
Loops will hold an album release party for its debut album, which is self-titled, on Friday night at the Effie Arts Collective, 422 Tranquille Rd.
The performance will also feature local musician Jeremy Kneeshaw. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the music will take place from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Tickets are available online at effieartscollective.com.
The Chamber Musicians of Kamloops' next concert is on Saturday, Feb. 26, with Triple Clef Presents, a blend of clarinet, piano and viola.
The concert will feature Kamloops musicians Sally Arai, Naomi Cloutier and Annette Dominik, who will be playing the works of composers Marjan Mozatich, Alexis Hollaender, Patrick Loisieur, and Kamloops composer Ryan Noakes.
The concert will take place at the Kamloops United Church, 421 St. Paul St., at 7:30 p.m. Livestream tickets are available online at chambermusiciansofkamloops.org and in-person tickets will be available at the door.
Ryan McMahon has shared the stage with some big names, like Burton Cummings, Buffy Ste. Marie, Mother Mother and Aaron Pritchett.
The folk/rock/country singer-songwriter will play a show at the Effie Arts Collective on Wednesday, March 2. The opening act will be Kamloops singer-songwriter Nick Fast.
Tickets are $20, available at the door or online at effieartscollective.com. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the music will begin at 8 p.m.
Kamloops Burlesque will present Yes Mistress, a 19-plus show, on March 5, at the Effie Arts Collective. Two shows will be held, with the early show beginning at 7 p.m. and the late show at 9 p.m. Doors will open a half-hour prior to showtime.
