City calls for applications for community art grants

The City of Kamloops has put out the call for applications to receive a community art grant.

The grants, allocated once each year for up to $10,000, are intended for projects that promote development and awareness of the arts in Kamloops.

In 2018, 11 non-profit organizations received $30,000 in funding through the community art grant program.

Those organizations include Arnica Artist Run Centre, Chimera Theatre Society, Kamloops Arts Council, Kamloops Central Business Improvement Association, community-campus radio station CFBX 92.5 FM, Kamloops Music Collective, Kamloops Society for the Written Arts, North Shore Business Improvement Association, Project X Theatre, the Thompson-Nicola-Shuswap chapter of the Federation of Canadian Artists and the Vivace Choral Society.

Applications must be received before 4 p.m., Friday, April 5.

Those eligible to apply can do so online at kamloops.ca/grants.
