Kamloops Symphony has cancelled or put on hold a number of events into May.
Barb's Used Book and Music Sale, the symphony's semi-annual fundraiser, was set to run from March 21 to April 5. It is now cancelled.
"This crucial fundraiser for the KSO will be remounted at a later date, once administration receives clarity on when it is socially responsible to do so. The Kamloops Symphony wishes to thank all volunteers who had already committed to shifts, and Total Concept Developments Ltd. for their ongoing support of this event."
An Evening with Eleanor Wachtel, which was scheduled for April 3, has been cancelled. It was also a fundraising event and will be rescheduled for the fall. Ticket holders have been automatically refunded.
The next concert for KSO, Luminous Voices, has been postponed. The concert included the KSO Chorus, choral students from the Kamloops Interior Summer School of Music and the SD73 Honour Choir. It will be rescheduled "either in its entirety or in part" for a later date to be determined.
Sense of Wonder, scheduled for May 2 and May 3 in Kamloops and Salmon Arm, has been put on hold and ticket sales have been suspended.
"Thank you for your patience and understanding as we determine the best course of action through this ever evolving and unpredictable situaton," the release reads.
