Free comics up for grabs on Saturday

Free Comic Book Day is at High Octane Comics on Third Avenue

Free Comic Book Day will take place on Saturday.

The annual event sees major comic book manufacturers release special free comics for the day. This year, titles up for grabs include Avengers, Stranger Things, Spider-Man, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Catwoman, Star Wars and Justice League.

“Every publisher puts their best foot forward. You not only want to reward existing readers, but you also want to introduce yourself to new readers too,” said Nick Klie, manager of High Octane Comics.

If the event is anything like last year’s, it will mean long lineups outside the comic book store at 250 Third Ave.

Klie said the event typically makes it the busiest day of the year at his store.

The shop will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
