Kamloops Wine Festival organizer Judy Basso said she can't wait for the event to return this year after "a few dry years" due to the pandemic.

A second tasting event has been added to the Kamloops Wine Festival schedule.

While the evening event for the Grand Wine Tasting is now sold out, an afternoon edition has been added, set for 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 3.

The event features 105 wines, ciders and spirits from across B.C., including wineries Monte Creek, Wild Goose, Volcanic Hills, The View, Gehringer Bros. and others.

Tickets are $75 and guests can place an order for their preferred wines at the end of the event, with pickup in the following days.

"The whole idea is to try to find your new wines," said organizer Judy Basso.

Tickets are also still available for a new addition to the Kamloops Wine Festival, Cheese the Day.

That event, on June 1, will feature Canadian Cheese Ambassador David Beaudoin, who will be pairing cheeses with wines and other food, as well as entertaining.
