Klassen among three appointed to BC Arts Council

Western Canada Theatre managing director Evan Klassen is among three new appointees to the BC Arts Council.

The three new members, approved last week, are Paula Martin, Sae-Hoon Stan Chung and Klassen.

Klassen was appointed as WCT's managing director in 2018, joining the theatre organization from Winnipeg, where he was the director of artistic operations and production at the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra.

The BC Arts Council was created in 1995 and has a mandate to provide grant funding for arts and culture in B.C. and ensure art and cultural programming is accessible to people across the province.

The trio's term is effective until July 31, 2021.
