Nominations are now open for the annual Mayor's Awards for the Arts.
Awards will be handed out in January 2021 for four categories.

The Artist of the Year (Performing Arts) award will go to a Kamloops artist who has made "remarkable contributions" to the performing arts scene in the city.
The Corporate Champion award will recognize someone who has made significant contributions to local arts and culture through donations, sponsorships or volunteer work supporting an arts and culture organization.
A younger artist, age 18 to 35, is eligible to win the Emerging Artist award for their accomplishments and future potential. This winner will also receive a $500 prize from the Kamloops Arts Council.
Finally, an award will be given for Innovation in the Arts, recognizing a business that has invested in an arts project, organization, event or individual in a creative or original way.
The deadline for nominations is Friday, Nov. 6, at 5 p.m.

The gala at which the awards will be presented is presented by the City of Kamloops, the Kamloops Art Gallery, Western Canada Theatre and the Kamloops Symphony Orchestra.
