Project X Theatre has cancelled its two park productions for this summer due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

X Fest 2020: Theatre Under the Trees was to feature The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by Melissa Young and Red Riding Hood by Mike Kenny, both of which will be staged in the summer of 2021 in Prince Charles Park downtown.

While the summer outdoor plays have been put on hold this year, Project X is still working on productions.

It has launched a new play development program called New Shoots. Plays developed through this process will have some public readings and just might end up on the summer stage in the future. Information is online at https://www.projectxtheatre.ca/newshoots.htm.
