Rivertown Players set date for virtual return

The Kamloops Arts Council's Rivertown Players kids theatre group will return in a virtual setting on July 15.

The annual theatre-in-the-park for kids troupe will stream performances on their Vimeo channel. Updates on upcoming shows will be posted on the group's Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages.

Performances are currently being written by the group, revolving around the theme "Heart the Planet," and featuring recycled materials for props and costumes.

This year's troupe is made up of stage manager Liz Nygren, assistant director Morgan Benedict, community engagement co-ordinators Abbie Israel-Armand and Maxwell Gallagher — all of whom are also actors in the shows.

Project X Theatre's Randi Edmundson will mentor the group.

Livestreamed performances will run Tuesday to Saturday from July 15 to Aug. 8 at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
