The Salmon Arm Roots and Blues music festival will be held virtually in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The event will take place online, hosted on Black Press media platforms, from Aug. 14 to Aug. 16.
A mix of new material shot for the festival and archival footage from previous festivals.
"While nothing is going to replace one's physical presence at a festival and the interaction that drives such an event, organizers at Roots and Blues felt an online presence would shine a light on some of the artistic highlights of years past," said Peter North, the festival's artistic director.
Two hours of free programming will be featured each night.
Artists include Corb Lund, Jim Cuddy, Bill Henderson of Chilliwack, Harry Manx, Irish Mythen, Steve Marriner, Michael Franti and more than a dozen others.
Registration for the free festival can be done beforehand, which will provide artist updates and a direct link to the festival in the days before it begins.
