The Sam Roberts Band headlines the launch weekend of the fifth annual Sun Peaks Summer Concert Series.

The concert series begins Friday on the hill with the venerable Canadian rock band performing hits including The Gate, Bridge to Nowhere, Brother Down and Where Have All The Good People Gone? The band will headline tomorrow, taking to the Main Stage at 7 p.m.

Two other performers on the Clock Tower Stage will bookend the Sam Roberts Band: Kelly Spencer at 5:30 p.m. and Shattered Blue at 8:30 p.m.

On Saturday, Jeremy Kneeshaw will play the Clock Tower Stage at 11 a.m., Brent Tyler will perform on the Upper Plaza Stage at 1 p.m., the Peter Ernst Band will take to the Clock Tower Stage at 3 p.m., Sun Peaks Music Search Winner The Burn Ins will play the Upper Plaza Stage at 5 p.m. and Extreme Radio will conclude the musical weekend on the Clock Tower Stage at 7:30 p.m.

The weekend concert is free to attend, but front-stage access area is $35 per person. There are various packages if visitors stay for a night or two. All the information can be found by emailing info@sunpeakstourism.com or by calling 1800-807-3257 (extension 1).

The free general access area does not have seating, so attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. As the forecast is for showers and the concert will proceed rain or shine, music fans should bring rain gear and umbrellas and coats and blankets as the evening is cooler in the mountains.
