Two local bands have released new albums in the past week.
The Houses (Where We Grew Up) dropped a surprise 14-track album at their show last Friday at the Kami Inn.
Dying is the duo’s debut album and has so far been released on digital platforms Spotify, Google Music and iTunes. Physical copies of the album are also on the way, as is a release on the group’s Bandcamp page.
The second local album is by At Mission Dolores, who released Cool World Friday after teasing singles from the eight-track album for weeks, earning airplay on CBC’s interior afternoon show Radio West.
The band is currently promoting the album on a short B.C. tour, playing Friday in Vancouver and Saturday in Victoria.
Cool World is one of two albums expected from At Mission Dolores this year. The other is Last Night Outside Her Apartment, which will add nine more tracks to the band’s library sometime in May.
Both bands also recently entered CBC’s Searchlight music contest along with five other Kamloops acts.
