The Kamloops Symphony Orchestra has cancelled two upcoming performances of Phenomenal Piano.

The presentation was set to take place on Saturday, Jan. 15, in Kamloops and on Sunday, Jan. 16, in Salmon Arm.

The symphony cites "several unique and compounding challenges," including the pandemic and ongoing transportation issues.

Ticket holders for the event will receive an automatic refund and the symphony will contact them directly.

"We were very much looking forward to welcoming and performing with Charles Richard-Hamelin and are actively working with him to reschedule at an appropriate time in the future," the KSO said.

Orchestral musicians set to play in the performance will still be compensated, the symphony added.
