Bear sightings are increasing as fall approaches and a Valleyview resident wants her neighbours to be bear aware of a bruin in the area.
Samantha Hoogstins said a bear has been spotted in the area of Valleyview Drive and Pyper Way on Wednesday morning (Sept. 15).
She said it appears to be the same bruin that has visited the area at least three times in the past couple of weeks.
“I ran to the neighbours to tell them to put their pets away,:” Hoogstins told KTW. “The last time, the bear was knocking over garbage cans. I don’t want to see the bear hurt and I don’t want to see any people hurt.”
Pyper Way backs onto the Valleyview hills.
