Car fire doused before flames could reach North Kamloops home

The blaze occurred on Jan. 17 on Linden Avenue

Kamloops Fire Rescue made quick work of a car fire that was sparked outside a home on Linden Avenue in North Kamloops earlier this week.

Firefighters responded at 11 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 17, in the driveway of a Linden Avenue home, making quick work of the flames, which were contained to the vehicles engine compartment. Crews stopped the flames as they were reaching the cab, KFR fire investigator Kevin Cassidy told KTW.

The flames also came close to the front of the home where it was parked.

“I would say within two or three metres of that front balcony,” Cassidy said, adding no one was injured from the fire.

Cassidy said the fire is not considered suspicious, but the cause was not determined.
