COVID-19 update: 424 new cases, three further deaths over past 24 hours

B.C. is reporting 424 new cases of COVID-19 and three further deaths due to the disease over the past 24 hours.

Interior Health accounts for 93 of the new cases.

Elsewhere, there were 140 cases in the Fraser Health region, 66 in Northern Health, 63 in Island Health and 62 in Vancouver Coastal Health.

One of the three deaths reported Thursday occurred in the Interior Health region, while two occurred in Fraser Health.

There are currently 3,061 active cases in the province, with 295 in hospital and 112 of those patients requiring critical care in ICUs.

Among those over age 12, 91 per cent have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 87.5 per cent have received at least two doses.

Over the past week, 58.9 per cent of all COVID-19 cases have been among those not fully vaccinated, while 68.5 per cent of all hospitalizations have been among those not fully vaccinated over the past two weeks.
