Driver suffers burns to hand in truck fire at Kamloops intersection

The cause of the fire is as yet undetermined. The flames appeared to have been contained to the cab of the vehicle

Kamloops Fire Rescue responded to the intersection of Columbia Street West and Summit Drive in Sahali on Tuesday afternoon for a report of a vehicle fire.

Southbound traffic on Columbia was backed up as emergency crews dealt with the incident and paramedics were called in to transport one patient to hospital with possible injuries. The vehicle was towed away just after 5 p.m.

KFR platoon Capt. David Ferguson told KTW the lone driver of the pickup truck sustained burns to his hand. Both RCMP and CP Police attended the scene and the fire was extinguished before firefighters arrived.
