Federal election is set for Sept. 20, but you can vote now — in person and by mail

The Elections Canada office for the Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo riding is in Northills Centre in North Kamloops and is open Mondays to Fridays from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.
Voting

If you wish to take time to study the candidates and the issues, you can wait until Monday, Sept. 20 — general voting day — to take part in the federal election.

If you already have a preference, you can vote right now.

Advance voting will take place on Sept. 10, 11, 12 and 13.

Go online to electionscanada.ca to find out where your polling station is located, what ID you need to vote, whether you have to register and how to vote by mail, a special voting procedure that has a deadline of Sept. 14.

Key dates in this election include Aug. 30 (final day to register as a candidate), Sept. 9 (the English-language leaders’ debate) and Sept. 13 (the KTW/Radio NL/Kamloops Chamber of Commerce local riding debate, to be broadcast on KTW’s Facebook page and on Radio NL).
