Don't anyone say Habitat for Humanity Kamloops can't succeed.
In fact, it can and it has 2.58 million of them to prove it.
The charity that builds affordable housing for needy families has collected that number of cans in a bid to receive a $60,000 grant from Alcan through its Builds on Recycling Program, which is only open to Habitat for Humanity chapters.
The goal is reach four million cans by the end of March.
Last year, grants were given to Ontario affiliates in Toronto, Kingston and Frontenac, as well as B.C.'s Sunshine Coast. Combined, these three groups collected 800,000 cans.
