Kamloops, Kootenay real estate associations launch Live Tours from your home

Those looking for a new home can now take live tours of the prospective abodes from the comfort of their own residences.

The Kamloops and District Real Estate Association (KADREA) and the Kootenay

Association of Realtors (KAR) have collaborated to create Live Tours, which allow buyers to continue to view active real estate listings — and sellers to continue to have their homes seen — without anyone leaving the comfort of their own home during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The environment in which we find ourselves has driven organizations like ours to be creative and innovative,” KDREA president Wendy Runge said. “Realtors are now able to continue providing variations of our traditional services to those that need to buy or sell.”

KAR president Tyler Hancock noted that, due to physical distancing and isolation practices, everyone is being more exposed to virtual platforms.

“As a result, we expect that business, in many industries, has the potential to be conducted differently going forward,” he said. “We must ensure that consumer expectations can be met and realtors are prepared.”

The two real estate associations say Live Tours has the potential to bridge the gap between viewing multiple houses as a buyer and drawing down the list of properties of interest before relaxing any self-isolation protocols.
