A dog reported as stolen will be returned to its rightful owner after Kamloops Mounties, acting on a tip, came into contact with the canine.
On May 12 at about 9:10 a.m., police received a report that Luna, a French bulldog, had been stolen from inside a vehicle, which had its windows open, in the 1300-block of Columbia Street, near Prince Charles Park, earlier this month.
Photos of Luna had been posted on social media and led to a person reporting they thought they saw Luna downtown.
“Police officers were led to a residence downtown and, while they were investigating the tip, Luna came running around the corner towards them,” Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in a release.
Officers carried the dog away from the residence and made arrangements to have it returned to its owner early next week.
“We are happy to report that Luna is happy and well,” Evelyn said.
The investigation into Luna’s disappearance continues and anybody with information on the case is asked to call Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2023-16474.
