A fight on a city transit bus that escalated into a stabbing has Kamloops Mounties looking for witnesses.

On Friday, May 20, at 8:20 p.m., officers were called to an area of Seymour Street and Fourth Avenue downtown for the reported assault with a weapon, where three males got into a fight on a bus, with the battle continuing after they left the vehicle.

One of the trio was said to have sustained non-life-threatening stab wound injuries in the process, according to police.

“As police move forward with the investigation, we are asking for anyone who witnessed or captured the altercation on a cellphone video to please contact police,” Const. Crystal Evelyn said.

Evelyn told KTW police have identified the suspects involved, but none were still on scene when police arrived, and no arrests have been made to date.

Anyone with information is asked to call Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2022-16809.
