Kamloops police seek shoplifters

One of the two men reportedly pulled out a knife when confronted by a store employee

Kamloops Mounties are looking for a pair of suspects who allegedly shoplifted items from the Brocklehurst 7-Eleven store on Wednesday (Sept. 21), with one of the men then reportedly pointing a knife at the clerk who tried to stop them.

Police were called to the convenience store at Tranquille Road and Desmond Street at about 6:30 p.m., but did not find the suspects despite “significant patrols in the area,” an RCMP press release stated.

Two men were caught on surveillance footage.

According to Cpl. Crystal Evelyn, they entered the store and allegedly picked up some items, then left without paying. When the employee confronted them just outside of the store, one of the suspects reportedly pulled put a knife and pointed it at them, then left in the direction of Nicolani Drive.

One suspect is white with a muscular build. He was wearing a blank tank top, khaki knee-length shorts, beige work boots, a beige baseball hat and a black backpack.

The other suspect is possibly white, with a short beard. He was wearing a black baseball hat with sunglasses tucked onto the brim, a blue zip-up hoodie, a red t-shirt, blue jeans and running shoes.
