Just before 6 p.m. on Monday (Aug. 2) a series of loud explosion sounds were heard in the neighbourhoods of Dufferin and Pine Valley neighbours.
Within seconds a large column of thick, black smoke billowed up from a tractor trailer in the southbound lane of Trans-Canada Hwy.1, just before exit 366.
Kamloops This Week photographer Dave Eagles arrived on the scene to find Kamloops Fire Rescue crews arriving to spray water on the front cab of a tractor trailer.
RCMP have stopped southbound traffic on the highway, as BC Paramedic crews attended to a male on the roadway, approximately 100 metres ahead of the fully involved semi-tractor unit.
More information to follow as it comes available.
