Two men were arrested in downtown Kamloops on the weekend after two people said they had been robbed at gunpoint on the street.

Kamloops RCMP Const. Crystal Evelyn said police were called to a business in the 450-block of Lansdowne Street on Friday, Dec. 3, at 7:22 p.m.

Two people had walked into a business to report they had been robbed by two men with what appeared to be a gun.

“One of the victims was able to obtain a photo of the suspects, which was shared with officers on patrol,” Evelyn said.

“Throughout the night, police continued to look for the suspects and were successful in finding them, the stolen handbag and its contents.”

Evelyn said an object resembling a handgun was found on one of the suspects and seized as part of the investigation.

Both men were released with a future court date as charges are pending.

Anyone who witnessed or has information related to the investigation is asked to call Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file number 2021-42193.
