Police operation in North Kamloops focuses on SUV

Numerous items could be seen inside the vehicle, including what appeared to be a weedwacker. One officer could be seen removing a chainsaw from the back of the vehicle

A large police presence at the Fortune Shopping Centre on Friday morning (Jan. 14) has cleared after five police vehicles surrounded a single SUV in the parking lot.

Multiple Kamloops RCMP officers appeared to have at least one person in custody in the back of a cruiser and seemed focused on contents within the SUV, which had many of its doors ajar.

Numerous items could be seen inside the vehicle, including what appeared to be a weedwacker. One officer could be seen removing a chainsaw from the back of the vehicle.

Another officer at the scene told media the investigation they were conducting was in its early stages.

KTW has a call in to Kamloops RCMP for more detail regarding the incident, which took place between the Dollarama and A&W restaurant.
