Province reports 671 cases of COVID-19, three further deaths in Interior Health

B.C. is reporting 671 cases of COVID-19 and three further deaths, all of which occurred in the Interior Health region. About two thirds of the cases reported on Friday were in the Interior Health region (230).

B.C. is reporting 671 cases of COVID-19 and three further deaths, all of which occurred in the Interior Health region.

About two thirds of the cases reported on Friday were in the Interior Health region (230). Elsewhere, there were 230 cases in Fraser Health, 78 in Vancouver Coastal Health, 44 in Island Health and 89 in Northern Health.

Hospitalization numbers continue to increase, with 215 in hospital in B.C., including 118 in ICUs.

Active cases in Interior Health have come down some, but the health region still leads in active cases with 1,965.

Elsewhere, there are 1,689 in Fraser Health, 1,077 in Vancouver Coastal Health, 595 in Northern Health and 539 in Island Health.

With three further deaths on Friday, a total of 1,827 have died since the start of the pandemic.

A number of outbreaks in care homes have once again emerged in the province, including two in Kamloops at The Hamlets at Westsyde and Kamloops Seniors Village.
