Serious crash has westbound Highway 1 lanes closed in Dallas area

Westbound traffic is blocked and being diverted across the South Thompson River via Lafarge Bridge and west along Shuswap Road.

Highway 1 westbound in the Dallas area is expected to be closed until the early afternoon on Tuesday (Sept. 21) due to a serious accident between Pat Road and Grand Boulevard.

Kamloops RCMP say the crash has closed both westbound lanes of the highway. Westbound traffic is blocked and being diverted across the South Thompson River via Lafarge Bridge and west along Shuswap Road.

Shuswap Road is experiencing heavy traffic as vehicles make their way toward the city via the rural route through Tk’emlúps.

DriveBC said the highway’s estimated reopening is at 1 p.m.
