Stabbing victim walks into Royal Inland Hospital ER

Suspect arrested at a home on Brandon Avenue in North Kamloops

A man is in the hospital and another man is in custody after Kamloops Mounties were called to Royal Inland Hospital on Wednesday (Oct. 6) for a report of a person with life-threatening injuries.

Const. Crystal Evelyn said officers were called to the hospital, downtown at Columbia Street and Third Avenue at 3:46 p.m. after a man entered the emergency room with stab wound injuries.

Evelyn said officers identified a potential suspect and crime scene, then went to an address on Brandon Avenue in North Kamloops and arrested a Kamloops man. 

Police were still at the Brandon Avenue home on Thursday morning as part of the ongoing investigation.

Evelyn said the victim and suspected attacker are known to each other, noting the general public is not believed to be at risk.

The victim was last reported to be in stable condition. 

Anyone who witnessed the stabbing or has information about it, including surveillance, dash-cam or cellphone video, is asked to call Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file number 2021-35312.
