They include six forums for city hall hopefuls and an event for school board trustee candidates

There are a number of all-candidates forums set in advance of the Oct. 15 civic election.

There are several events featuring mayoral and councillor candidates and at least one forum featuring trustee aspirants in School District 73.

SATURDAY, SEPT. 24, 10 A.M. TO NOON

The Kamloops chapter of the Council of Canadians is hosting its regular all-candidates forum for mayoral and councillor candidates at the Kamloops Regional Farmers’ Market, in the yard of the former Stuart Wood elementary, downtown at St. Paul Street and Third Avenue. Candidates will have one minute to introduce themselves, followed by a Q&A session with the public.

MONDAY, SEPT. 26, 9 A.M.

Tourism Kamloops is hosting an online mayoral forum, which can be seen on the Luv’n the Loops Facebook page.

WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 28, NOON

A seniors-focused forum for mayoral and councillor candidates will be held at the Desert Gardens Seniors Community Centre, downtown at 540 Seymour St. The event is being organized by councillor candidate Nancy Bepple, who has arranged similar forums in previous elections, Masks must be worn in common areas of the building.

WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 28, 6:30 P.M.

The School District 72 District Parent Advisory Committee is hosting an all-candidates meeting for city trustee candidates. It will take place at the Henry Grube Education Centre, at the north end of Overlanders Bridge in North Kamloops. A less formal candidate social will follow, allowing voters to connect with candidates. The event may be livestreamed on the DPAC 73 Kamloops-Thompson Facebook page.

TUESDAY, OCT. 4, 6:15 P.M.

CFJC-TV and the Kamloops and District Chamber of Commerce have teamed up to host an all-candidates forum for councillor and mayoral candidates in the Grand Hall at Thompson Rivers University. Doors will open at 6:15 p.m., with the forum beginning at 7 p.m.

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 5, 7 P.M.

Kamloops This Week, CBC Radio and Radio NL are staging an all-candidates forum in the Grand Hall at Thompson Rivers University for councillor and mayoral candidates. The forum will follow the format of the highly successful 2018 civic election forum and will feature a mayoral session, followed by groups of councillor candidates taking to the stage in 25-minute increments to answer questions from the public. You can attend in person and ask a question of the candidates or you can catch the forum online via KTW’s Facebook page.

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 12, 5:30 P.M.

The Central Interior chapter of the Canadian Home Builders’ Association and the Association of Interior Realtors are hosting an all-candidates forum for mayoral and councillor candidates at Colombo Lodge, east of downtown at 814 Lorne St., on Oct. 12. Registration and networking will begin at 5:30 p.m., and the dinner event will run until 9:00 p.m. Voters planning on attending must first register on the CHBA-CI’s website.
