The latest B.C. COVID-19 numbers: 10,185 cases, 8,502 recovered, 245 deaths

B.C. health officials have announced 119 new cases of COVID-19, identified over the past 24 hours. Two of the new cases are in the Interior Health region, which also has one person in hospital and 18 total active cases.

Elsewhere in the province, there have now been 3,728 cases in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, 5,253 in the Fraser Health region, 225 in Vancouver Island Health, 559 in Interior Health, 331 in Northern Health and 89 among those who reside outside Canada. In all, there have been 10,185 confirmed cases in the province since its first on Jan. 28.

There are currently 1,406 active cases and 68 people are in hospital, with 19 of those in critical care.

An additional 3,180 people are being monitored by public health due to exposure to confirmed cases.

A total of 245 people have died to COVID-19 in B.C. and 8,502 have recovered. No new deaths were announced Friday.
