A woman is in custody after Kamloops Mounties responded to a weapons call downtown on Tuesday (May 10).
At about 6:10 p.m., police were called to a store downtown, in the 400-block of Lansdowne Street, for a report involving a possible firearm.
There, officers dealt with a woman in her 40s who who appeared intoxicated and was inside a store with a suspected handgun in her bag.
“Police arrested the woman without incident, at which point they located a realistic-looking BB-gun pistol, a knife and drugs, all of which were seized,” Const. Crystal Evelyn said. “Police checks revealed the woman was also wanted on a warrant related to numerous firearms offences.”
The woman remains in custody as she awaits a court appearance.
