Weapons stolen from Pineview Valley home

The burglary just after midnight on New Year’s Day resulted in revolvers, shotguns, rifles and a carbine being stolen

Burglars made off with more than a half-dozen weapons during a New Year’s Day break and enter in the Pineview Valley neighbourhood.

Kamloops Mounties responded to a home in the 1900-block of Englemann Court about a half hour after the clock turned over to 2022.

According to police, a resident had returned home to find a Dodge pickup truck in their driveway, the driver of which quickly sped away, along with the driver of another truck nearby.

The Dodge had been backed into the garage door and the suspects broke into the house from there, wherein revolvers, shotguns, rifles and a carbine were stolen.

Surveillance footage showed one of the suspect vehicles near the residence at 11:34 p.m., then return at 12:13 a.m. Several men are believed to have been involved — one of whom was wearing red footwear.

The suspect vehicles are described as a silver Dodge pickup truck, with a possible licence plate number of KWH 887, and a white Dodge pickup truck.

Anyone with information on those involved in the burglary is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2022-05.
