A man from Langley could be facing charges after allegedly causing a disturbance on a Kamloops bus.

On July 26 at about 1 p.m., Kamloops RCMP officers responded to the 1200-block of Summit Drive in Sahali, where a man was allegedly threatening someone and damaging a city transit bus.

Mounties arrived to find a bystander holding the suspect down. Officers arrested him, taking the suspect to the downtown detachment cells to sober up and calm down before releasing him with a court date.

“Throughout his interaction with police, the suspect made threats directed at all police in general and continuously shouted racist comments at one of the responding officers,” Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in a release.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2022-25864.
