Another COVID-19 case at Sa-Hali secondary in Kamloops

Below is a full list of potential COVID-19 exposures in the Kamloops-Thompson school district since the first incident in March 2020.

Sa-Hali secondary has recorded another positive COVID-19 case, which bring to at least 16 the number of such cases documented at the high school since the pandemic began.

Principal Rachel Sdoutz informed parents of the new case in a letter dated Feb. 10, noting the potential exposure occurred on Feb. 3.

In the letter, Sdoutz said a member of the school’s community has tested positive and is self-isolating at home. As has been the practice of all COVID-19 cases at schools, officials are not specifying whether the person infected is a student, teacher or other staff member.

Interior Health is undertaking contact tracing and will determine if anyone in the school was in contact with the person who tested positive for COVID-19 while they were potentially infectious. Interior Health will also determine if anyone in the school community is a close contact who is required to self-isolate.

Those contacted by Interior Health Authority are asked to follow advice given. If you are not contacted by Interior Health, it has been determined that your child is not at risk of developing COVID-19.

As a reminder, parents and guardians are asked to continue daily health checks to monitor children for illness. Those with questions or about COVID-19 can call 811.
