Police made a trio of arrests on the weekend, taking into custody three men alleged to have been rummaging through vouches and backyards in the downtown area on Saturday, May 8.
At about 11 a.m., Kamloops RCMP officers attended the mischief report at Battle and Columbia streets, where they found two suspects. A third was pointed out by a witness nearby. All three suspects were arrested and transported to RCMP detachment cells.
One man was later released with a court date, pending charge recommendation and approval, while another was held on warrants for a separate file. A third suspect was charged in relation to the offence on Saturday and remanded in custody.
Tristan Fernandez, 24, of Kamloops is facing numerous charges.
He faces one count of mischief for breaking a vehicle window and smashing the ignition lock, failing to comply with a probation order by possessing a knife as well as occupying the driver’s seat of a motor vehicle without being the owner or having the registered owner with him and possessing an instrument suitable for the purpose of breaking into a motor vehicle.
His next court date is scheduled for May 17.
