Ashcroft emergency department temporarily closed

Due to staffing issues, the emergency department at the Ashcroft Hospital and Community Health Care Centre will again be temporarily closed.

The closure will be from Friday, July 12, at midnight to Saturday, July 13, at 8 a.m.

Interior Health said residents requiring urgent care should call 911 or visit one of the following facilities:

• Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops;

• Lillooet Hospital, 951 Murray St., Lillooet;

• Nicola Valley Hospital, 3451 Voght St., Merritt.

Interior Health said residents who are not sure if they need emergency care for a medical issue should call HealthLink BC at 8-1-1 (24-hour service).

The emergency department in Ashcroft normally operates on weekends only, from Friday at 6 p.m. to Monday at 8 a.m.
