B.C. reports 183 new cases of COVID-19 and one further death

B.C. is reporting 183 new cases of COVID-19 and one further death due to the disease.

Of the new cases, 30 are in the Interior Health region. Elsewhere, there were 40 cases in Vancouver Coastal Health, 101 in Fraser Health, three in Island Health and nine in Northern Health.

There are currently 2,453 active cases in B.C., with 224 of those in hospital, including 59 patients in critical care units.

With one further death reported Friday, the province's death toll stands at 1,710.

To date, B.C. has seen a total of 145,049 cases, with 140,835 of those recovered.

On the vaccine front, B.C. has now adminsitered a total of 3,488,884 total doses, with 256,725 of those being second doses. That figure represents first-dose coverage of 72.4 per cent for adults 18 and older, and 69.6 per cent for everyone 12 and older.
