B.C. reports 250 new cases of COVID-19, three further deaths

B.C. is reporting 250 new cases of COVID-19 and three further deaths due to the disease.

Of the new cases, 40 are in the Interior Health region.

Elsewhere, there were 84 new cases in Vancouver Coastal Health, 109 in Fraser Health, nine in Island Health and eight in Northern Health.

Hospitalization numbers remain lower than they have been in recent months, with 296 in hospital on Wednesday, including 97 in critical care.

The province has 3,580 active cases and has had 142,886 cases to date. Of those, 137,517 have recovered while 1,683 have died.

Vaccinations continue, with everyone age 12 and older able to book an appointment. As of Wednesday, 2,979,951 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given to British Columbians, including 152,010 second doses.
