B.C. saw 481 new cases of COVID-19 and 12 further deaths over the three-day weekend period from June 5 to June 7.
Of the new cases, 70 were in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, 285 were in the Fraser Health region, nine in Vancouver Island Health, 101 in Interior Health and 15 in Northern Health.
Hospitalizations continue to decline, down to 199 on Monday, with 63 of those patients requiring critical care in ICUs.
The number of active cases also continues to fall, down to 2,102 on Monday.
To date, 1,722 people have died due to COVID-19, including the 12 deaths reported over the weekend period.
On the vaccine front, B.C. continues with steady progress. To date, 3,635,795 total doses have been administered, including 314,246 second doses.
That means as of Monday, 74 per cent of all adults 18 and older had received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Additionally, 72 per cent of those age 12 and older have received the vaccine, which includes 39 per cent of all youth age 12 to 17.
