As of 8:50 a.m., both northbound lanes of Westsyde Road were closed, as was one southbound lanes. There are unconfirmed reports that two people were injured, including a child.

The intersection was recently upgraded by the city in an attempt to help alleviate congestion as parents drop and off and pick up their kids at Westmount elementary.

The school is on Walkem, which leads to a cul de sac and has no alternative exit routes.
