Crews battle wildfire east of Cache Creek

The fire is an estimated 20 hectares in size.

The BC Wildfire Service (BCWFS) is responding to a grassfire south of Highway 1 approximately 16 kilometres east of Cache Creek.

The fire is estimated at 20 hectares and is burning in an area between a railroad track and the Thompson River.

Twenty-two wildfire personnel are responding with air tanker support to the fire, which was reported Monday afternoon.

The fire’s cause has yet to be determined and the BCWFS has not said if the fire is under control at this time.
