A case of COVID-19 has been confirmed in an employee at the Domino’s pizzeria in Valleyview.
The store, located on East Trans-Canada Highway, was temporarily closed to be cleaned and sanitized after an employee informed the business he or she tested positive for the disease, Domino’s vice-president of marketing Jeff Kacmarek told KTW via email.
Kacmarek did not indicate the date the store was cleaned or when the employee reported the positive test, but said the team member, as of Nov. 16, has not worked in the store in the past five days.
“The store followed all requirements set by the Interior Health Authority before re-opening to once again serve the community,” Kacmarek said.
The employee will remain home until it is safe for them to return to the store, he said.
The Domino’s employee is the latest in a number of workers in Kamloops to contract COVID-19, including at least seven at the Royal Inland Hospital, three at Kamloops Home Hardware, one at the Walmart McDonald’s and one at The Hamlets care home. In addition, there is a confirmed case at NorKam senior secondary.
