Kamloops RCMP say a man has been arrested after a flagger was struck Thursday morning in Valleyview.
RCMP Cpl. Jodi Shelkie said the collision occurred at Valleyview Drive and Vicars Road near Ralph Bell elementary at about 9:50 a.m.
The flagger was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
“For proper flow of traffic and for the safety of the flaggers, it is vital that all drivers obey the flaggers. Exercise caution in construction zones and, above all else, show patience,” Shelkie said.
A 46-year-old man later turned himself in at an RCMP detachment, Shelkie said. He was not previously known to police.
BC Hydro has been working in the area to upgrade electrical equipment and increase power supply to Valleyview and Juniper residents.
