Fatal crash west of Savona closes Highway 1

Kamloops RCMP Staff Sgt. Ed Preto said police and paramedics were called to the intersection of Highway 1 and Deadman Vidette Road, west of Savona, at 5:08 p.m. following the two-vehicle collision.

A fatal accident on Highway 1 west of Kamloops has led to closure of the highway in both directions as of 6 p.m.on Thursday.

Kamloops RCMP Staff Sgt. Ed Preto said police and paramedics were called to the intersection of Highway 1 and Deadman Vidette Road, west of Savona, at 5:08 p.m. following the two-vehicle collision.

Preto said an occupant of one of the vehicles died at the scene of the crash.

The highway connecting Kamloops and Cache Creek will be closed for in indeterminate period of time.
