In surrounding ridings, Conservative candidates all had strong showings, declared winners in every neighbouring riding except Kootenay-Columbia where it remains too close to call.
In the Prince George-Peace River-Northern Rockies, Bob Zimmer was elected with about 70 per cent of the vote. Cariboo-Prince George candidate Todd Doherty took 48.5 per cent and was elected, Central Okanagan-Similkameen-Nicola candidate Dan Albas won with 48.3 per cent of the vote, Mel Arnold won in North Okanagan-Shuswap with 48.7 per cent and Brad Vis took Mission-Matsqui-Fraser Canyon with 41.7 per cent of the vote.
